HERITAGE OF ROUTES, NETWORKS AND CONNECTIONS
Workshop FORTIFICATION ARCHITECTURE FOR A CULTURE OF PEACE: VALORISATION OF CENTRAL EUROPEAN FORTIFICATIONS THROUGH CULTURAL ROUTES AND TRANSNATIONAL NETWORKS of the University of Pula, TU Graz and FORTE CULTURA.
On the occasion of the European Heritage Days 2024, a hybrid workshop was organised and held by the FORTE CULTURA Scientific Committee under the direction of Nataša Urošević at the Juraj Dobrila University of Pula. The seminar consisted of 4 lectures:
- Nataša Urošević, UNIPU: Models of sustainable valorization of European fortified heritage - European programmes and projects
- Kristina Afrić Rakitovac, UNIPU: Inclusive placemaking: transforming fortifications into places for vulnerable social groups
- Volker Pachauer, TU Graz, Austrian Association for Fortifications: Austro-Hungarian fortifications along the Adriatic coast - an overview
- Dirk Röder: FORTE CULTURA - European Cultural Route of Fortified Heritage: Fortresses for Culture and Peace.
This was followed by a guided tour of St Michael's Fort in Pula with the students.
