FAQ on membership

FORTE CULTURA is the European Cultural Route of Fortified Monuments. It represents and promotes the cultural heritage of fortresses in Europe, in particular through the promotion of cultural tourism along the stations of the cultural route.

The European cultural route FORTE CULTURA currently comprises 59 stations in 13 countries (see FORTE CULTURA tourism portal).

The European Cultural Route is organised by the FORTE CULTURA e.V. network of the same name. You have to be a member of FORTE CULTURA e.V. to become a stop on the cultural route.

Download the Application form on the FORTE CULTURA network page and fill it out. Send it by e-mail to the network office.

Membership is open to cities, institutions, associations, experts and scientists who pursue the goal of supporting the cultural heritage of fortified monuments and representing the values of FORTE CULTURA.

The membership fees vary depending on the form of the legal entity and/or the fortress heritage that you represent. You can find an overview of membership fees on the Network website.

Members representing a fortress monument become a station on the European Cultural Route and are included in the marketing and information programme, for example via the FORTE CULTURA tourism portal www.forte-cultura.com.

All members also benefit from professional expertise, access to exclusive events, workshops and conferences as well as the opportunity to participate in joint projects and initiatives.

Members represent the FORTE CULTURA European Cultural Route at their fortress locations. For example, they mark their membership with the FORTE CULTURA sign and make FORTE CULTURA marketing tools available at their location. They network with other stations and take part in events and activities.

They provide information, images and video material about their location for marketing activities and train their tour guides on the content of the European Cultural Route (FORTE CULTURA certificate for tour guides).

FORTE CULTURA organises a variety of activities, including conferences, workshops, the European Fortress Summer and special events on the cultural heritage of fortresses

Information on current events and registration options can be found on the FORTE CULTURA network page. You can also contact our network office.

Members receive support through individual international marketing of their fortress heritage, specialist expertise, access to a broad network of experts and the opportunity to participate in joint projects and initiatives.
