Fort Gorgast was built at the end of the 19th century and is an outer fort of the former fortress of Küstrin (Kostrzyn nad Odrą, PL). The Prussian Biehlerfort is the only one of the 4 outer forts of the Küstrin fortress on the western side of the Oder and is also the only one that is well preserved.

Heute betreut der Verein Fort Gorgast e.V. den Standort mit Führungen und Veranstaltungen. Der Vereinsvorstand um Michael Heinsohn möchte mit der Zusammenarbeit die Kooperation mit anderen Festungsstandorten stärken. Fort Gorgast war bereits von 2004-2006 an der Entwicklung der Baltic Fort Route beteiligt. (Foto: D. Röder)
